About This Tour

From the legendary fairways of Fancourt to the sun-drenched vineyards of Franschhoek and the breathtaking beauty of Cape Town's V&A Waterfront, this fully escorted 12-night tour is South Africa's Western Cape at its absolute finest.

Sandy's Safaris has spent over 20 years perfecting this journey - and it shows in every detail. You'll play seven of South Africa's most celebrated golf courses, beginning at the world-renowned Fancourt Estate in George, home to three championship courses that have hosted the Presidents Cup and some of the biggest names in world golf. From there, the tour winds through the spectacular Winelands - Pearl Valley, Erinvale, and Steenberg - before finishing in Cape Town, where the iconic V&A Waterfront provides a glamorous and unforgettable final chapter.

But this tour is about so much more than golf. Between rounds, you'll discover the Cape Winelands on a full-day wine tour through some of the world's most beautiful wine estates. You'll explore the dramatic Cape Peninsula on a full-day Cape Point tour - where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet at the tip of Africa. And you'll stay at three exceptional properties, each perfectly positioned to immerse you in the very best of their region.

Fully escorted by an experienced Sandy's Safaris guide, with all transfers handled by luxury coach and porter services at every accommodation, this is golf travel without a single worry in the world.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Fancourt | Welcome to the Garden Route
Your Western Cape golf adventure begins at Fancourt - one of South Africa's most celebrated golf estates, set against the dramatic Outeniqua Mountains near George. Check in, explore the magnificent grounds, and let the anticipation of what lies ahead settle over you. Tonight, dine at the estate and raise a glass to the journey that starts tomorrow. Fancourt is not just a hotel - it's a destination in itself, and your first two days on course will prove exactly why.
Day 2 - Golf at Montagu | Fancourt Estate
Your first round takes you onto Fancourt's Montagu Course - a breathtaking Gary Player design that winds through indigenous fynbos and wetlands with the Outeniqua Mountains as your constant backdrop. It's a course that demands precision and rewards creativity, with water features, dramatic bunkering, and fairways that flow naturally through the landscape. Golf carts and halfway house are included, giving you every reason to savour every hole of what promises to be a round you'll be talking about for years.
Day 3 - Golf at Pinnacle Point | Fancourt Estate
Today takes you to one of South Africa's most dramatic golf experiences - Pinnacle Point Beach & Golf Resort, carved into the cliffs above the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay. This is a course where the scenery threatens to distract you from every shot - sheer cliff faces, crashing surf, and fairways suspended above the ocean create a playing experience unlike almost anything else in the world. Return to Fancourt this evening, views still fresh in your mind.
Day 4 - Golf at Outeniqua | Fancourt Estate
Another day, another Fancourt masterpiece. The Outeniqua Course is widely regarded as one of the finest parkland courses in South Africa - a Ron Kirby design that meanders through wetlands and mature trees, with the mountain range providing a stunning natural amphitheatre. The halfway house is included today, so pause at the turn, take in the views, and fuel up for what the back nine has in store. Golf carts are included throughout.
Day 5 - Golf at The Links | Fancourt Estate
Your final round at Fancourt is saved for The Links - arguably the most famous course in South Africa and consistently ranked among the top courses on the African continent. Designed by Gary Player and inspired by the great links courses of the British Isles, The Links is a true test of golf that has challenged the world's best players. Halfway house is included. After five extraordinary days at Fancourt, tonight you'll transfer to the beautiful town of Franschhoek, nestled in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Day 6 - Transfer to Franschhoek | Cape Winelands Arrival
This morning you make the scenic four-hour transfer from George to Franschhoek - one of the most beautiful drives in South Africa, through mountain passes, fruit orchards, and the spectacular Winelands landscape. Franschhoek, meaning "French Corner," was established by French Huguenot settlers in the 17th century and today is South Africa's culinary and wine capital. Check into the Protea Hotel Franschhoek, freshen up, and spend the afternoon exploring the village's world-class restaurants, galleries, and boutiques. This evening, dine at one of Franschhoek's celebrated restaurants - a taste of what tomorrow's wine tour has in store.
Day 7 - Full Day Wine Tour | Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Winelands
Today the golf clubs rest as you immerse yourself in one of the world's great wine regions. The Cape Winelands produce some of the southern hemisphere's finest wines, and today's full-day tour takes you through some of the most celebrated estates in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch - tasting award-winning Chenin Blancs, Pinotages, and Cabernet Sauvignons against a backdrop of vine-covered mountains and 300-year-old Cape Dutch homesteads. It's a day of pure indulgence, exceptional wine, and scenery that belongs on a postcard.
Day 8 - Golf at Pearl Valley | Franschhoek
Back on the course today at Pearl Valley Golf Estate - one of the most visually stunning golf courses in South Africa, set in the Paarl Valley with the dramatic Du Toitskloof Mountains rising behind every hole. Jack Nicklaus designed this masterpiece to flow seamlessly through wetlands and vineyards, creating a course of extraordinary beauty and genuine championship challenge. Golf carts are included. Afterwards, return to Franschhoek for your final evening in the Winelands.
Day 9 - Full Day Cape Point Tour | Franschhoek
Today you venture to the tip of Africa on a full-day Cape Point tour - one of the most spectacular day trips anywhere in the world. The Cape Peninsula stretches south from Cape Town through mountain fynbos, hidden beaches, and dramatic clifftops to Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet in a collision of wild water and extraordinary scenery. You'll visit the Cape of Good Hope, spot Cape mountain zebra and baboons in the reserve, and stand at one of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet. A day that will stay with you forever.
Day 10 - Transfer to Cape Town | V&A Waterfront Arrival
Today you make the one-hour transfer from Franschhoek to Cape Town - and what an arrival it is. The V&A Waterfront hotel puts you at the heart of one of the world's most vibrant and beautiful waterfronts, with Table Mountain rising dramatically behind the city and the Atlantic Ocean glittering before you. Check in, explore the Waterfront's exceptional restaurants and shops, and let Cape Town work its considerable magic. The final chapter of your South African golf journey has begun.
Day 11 - Golf at Steenberg | Cape Town
Your Cape Town golf begins at Steenberg Golf Club - a magnificent course set within the Steenberg Estate in the Constantia Valley, one of Cape Town's most prestigious neighbourhoods. Framed by the Constantiaberg mountains and surrounded by one of the Cape's oldest wine estates, Steenberg is a course of rare elegance and genuine challenge. Golf carts are included. After your round, explore Constantia's world-famous wine estates or head back to the Waterfront for the evening.
Day 12 - Golf at Erinvale | Cape Town
Your final round takes you to Erinvale Golf Club - a Gary Player-designed course in the shadow of the Hottentots Holland Mountains in Somerset West, consistently rated among the top courses in South Africa. With sweeping mountain views on every hole and fairways that wind through indigenous vegetation and water features, Erinvale provides a fitting and memorable finale to an extraordinary week of golf. Golf carts are included. Tonight, celebrate the journey with a farewell dinner at one of Cape Town's world-class restaurants.
Day 13 - Departure | Until Next Time
This morning, after a final breakfast overlooking the V&A Waterfront, it's time to say goodbye to Cape Town - though if experience is any guide, it won't be for long. South Africa has a way of pulling people back. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport with memories of world-class golf, extraordinary wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and the warm hospitality that has made Sandy's Safaris one of South Africa's most trusted golf tour operators for over 20 years. Until next time.
